About us

RDO - Rural Development Organization is a Registered Non-Government, Non Profit motive, Women headed organization providing “Voice for the Voice less & Care for the uncared”. Our NGO has been initiated by the year of 1999 in Pudukkottai District, Tamilnadu with an ambition of empowering the poor, downtrodden people to attain social equality, education, economically self sustained, communally independent, politically participative and access to all human rights.

Since its inception, we are in the service of “Identify, Rescue and Rehabilitate the victims” by enhancing the various developmental activities/ programmes with the support of Government Bodies, Corporates, donor agencies and sponsors.

Objectives of RDO

• To establish a well understanding rapport among the targeted community without any discriminations.
• To rescue the children in distress and protect them from abuse and exploitation.
• To ensure the children's basic human rights at all level through by educating the community.
• To identify the dropouts and never enrolled and assist them to gather education.
• To promote the girl children's education and their status in the community to lead a respectable standard of living.
• To help the helpless and hopeless children access to education, good health, protection, care and support.
• To motivate the women and support them to be self sustainable.
• To promote various skill development trainings to adolescent girls, youths and women access to have well established further education and employment.
• To make awareness among women about political participative and to act independent.
• To eradicate violence against children and women in the community.
• To encourage women to be self reliable and wise enough to make decisions and access to have all their rights.
• To improve the downtrodden people's income generation source and availability.
• To undertake the rescue programmes during the times of natural calamities, disasters of flood, fire, earthquake, tsunami and storm etc., 
• To educate the community about social equanimity & justice and ensure to have harmony & peaceful life.
